Interesting Boats Rose 20 Electric Launch "Avondale"

"Avondale" formerly the "Last Gasp" is a joy to tow behind even the smallest of vehicles.
Her light weight and compact size permit easy, quick trips.

An ideal family boat cruising on a quiet lake with even quieter electric power permits exploration of wildlife without disturbance.  A great way to bring up the children and keep their interest while being able to carry on a conversation at normal voice levels.  Economical to operate, always starts and runs dependably.

With a 30 knots breeze blowing the Rose 20 handles well and provides a feeling of safety and comfort.  Her brightly varnished wood surfaces give her a look of luxury.  The propulsion system is hidden from view beneath the cockpit sole.

Five persons fit comfortably when the Rose is used in protected waters,. Her electric motor is well able to develop the power required to move her along at an acceptable speed and range.

When first built this boat was the Queen of the Rhode Island Boat Show, seen here in the rotunda of the Providence Civic Center.  Her fantail hull with a plumb bow recalls over a century of traditional boat design and construction.  The Rose 20 is always an eye-catcher and is much admired.
